LearntobeHealthy.org Wins Gold and Bronze World Wide Web Health Awards

LearntobeHealthy.org has been honored with two World Wide Web Health Awards. The site, made possible by funding from Highmark Healthy High 5, a children’s health promotion initiative of the Highmark Foundation, won a Gold Award for its teen content and a Bronze Award for its parent/teacher portal.

LearntobeHealthy.org currently offers interactive games and Web-based activities that engage students on the entire K - 12 spectrum. The site has become popular among teachers because it offers free lesson plans and bases all activities on state and national education standards.

The World Wide Web Health Awards recognizes the best Web-based health-related content. The program, which was created by the Health Information Resource Center, aims to provide a “seal of quality” for electronic health information.

Award winners were named by a panel of international health information and Internet experts, who judged entries based on accuracy, success in reaching the targeted audience, and overall quality.

Since its launch in early 2006, LearntobeHealthy.org has added nearly 75,000 members. Teachers, parents, kids and teens are encouraged to visit LearntobeHealthy.org and register for free use of all of its award-winning content.
